Here is a clear opportunity for a chef who can hold a station alone: a Chef de Partie role in Melbourne with an established, expanding Italian restaurant group. Senior Chef de Partie applicants also fit. The position sits in the kitchen of the group's original restaurant, a pasta bar that has been running for years.
Your section will be pans (pasta) or larder, and you will run it independently. You need a solid understanding of Italian food and culture. Pasta is made fresh in-house daily in a newly built kitchen, using artisan Italian products and ingredients from local farmers.
Expect casual hours to start, up to 40 a week on a regular roster. Full-time contracts are assessed after a trial of at least four weeks. Visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate, and pay depends on skill, palate, teamwork, experience and work ethic.

Key Responsibilities
- Run the pans or larder section without supervision during service
- Get through pre-service prep
- Organise your mise en place
- Take full ownership of your dishes and their quality
- Work closely with the Sous Chef in prep and in service
- Keep the kitchen clean and hygienic, meeting food safety standards
- Build a positive, motivated team around you and keep learning on the job
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant qualifications and solid training in the industry
- Experience running a section through busy service
- Independent and organised, with strong communication
- A genuine interest in Italian culture, Italian cuisine and where good produce comes from
- Good knowledge of safe food handling and hygiene; a team player who also brings a lot as an individual
