A bakery near Burnie, Tasmania, has a clear need: a Baker / Pastry Chef who can turn out excellent pies and run a creamery range without letting standards slip.
This is hands-on production. You will make sweet and savoury pies from scratch, produce ice cream, custards and other dairy-based items, and keep stock, ordering and hygiene under control. If you have ideas, there is space to develop recipes and seasonal specials.
The bakery is hiring full-time or part-time, and visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate. Early mornings come with the job, so be ready for that.

Key Responsibilities
- Handle full pie production from scratch, both sweet and savoury, covering pastry, fillings and finishing
- Produce ice cream, custards and other creamery items made from dairy
- Keep standards of quality, consistency and presentation high
- Control stock rotation, ingredient ordering and kitchen cleanliness, following food safety and hygiene rules at all times
- Develop or improve recipes and seasonal specials where it makes sense
- Work alongside kitchen and front-of-house staff to meet production targets every day
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven track record as a baker, pastry chef or similar
- Particular strength in pies and in creamery or dairy products
- Strong pastry fundamentals: dough, lamination and blind baking
- Understanding of dairy-based dessert preparation and of food safety requirements
- Reliable and organised
- Able to work early morning shifts, with a genuine passion for baking and attention to detail
- Relevant certifications, for instance food safety handling, are a plus
