Here is a solid opportunity in Tauranga, New Zealand. A disability support service is hiring a Support Worker / Life Facilitator on a full-time contract to work within a 24/7 team. The person you support is a highly motivated client living with tetraplegia who stays active, keeps full-time commitments and needs someone ready to do more than basic care.
Expect hands-on personal cares, help with the day's activities and real companionship. You will also drive the client and go along to work and family commitments, including some travel. Shifts are rostered, with days from 7 am to 5 pm and nights from 5 pm to 7 am with a sleepover period, about 35 hours a week or more spread across roughly 2 to 4 shifts, and 2 weekend shifts a month. The client and team train you comprehensively.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal cares, daily activity support and companionship
- Drive and accompany the client to work and family commitments
- Work AM and PM shifts in the 24/7 support team and help coordinate the roster
- Follow the care plan and job description, keeping the environment comfortable and engaging
Requirements & Eligibility
- Currently studying towards an NZQA health and wellbeing qualification, Level 3 or higher
- Good understanding of 24/7 roster coordination and hands-on training experience tied to a care plan and job description
- Professional, honest, trustworthy and reliable
- Good communication and the ability to adapt to changing needs
- Initiative, common sense and a positive attitude
- A driver licence plus a high level of English
- Strong availability for afternoons, evenings, sleepovers and 2 weekend shifts a month
