A private psychiatric hospital in Melbourne is filling permanent full-time nursing roles on an inpatient unit, and it wants Registered Nurses who can handle patients who are acutely unwell with complex needs, working as one part of a multi-professional team.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed assessments of patients' mental health
- Provide care that is individualised
- Provide support for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other conditions
- Complete patient risk assessments
- Complete mental state examinations and monitor patients
- Deliver medications
- Follow treatment responses
- Help patients through crises with intervention
- Help patients plan their recovery
- Support therapeutic engagement
- Team up with nursing colleagues, psychiatrists, psychologists and allied health staff
- Make sure clinical documentation is accurate
- Contribute to discharge planning
Requirements & Eligibility
- A qualified Registered Nurse who has worked in inpatient mental health or psychiatric nursing
- Either already registered with AHPRA or eligible for Australian nursing registration
- Clinical assessment and risk management ability at a strong level
- Communication skills that are strong
- Experience across acute mental health, adult psychiatry or specialist inpatient services
- A commitment to care that is recovery-focused, trauma-informed and person-centred
- Seeking employer sponsorship through the Subclass 482 visa
