This is a Head Chef role for a chef who wants to put their name on a kitchen from the start. A new 90-seat neighbourhood bar in Sydney, NSW is preparing to open with a steak and seafood focus, and it needs someone to lead the kitchen through launch and beyond.
Expect an open kitchen in full view of guests, a lively bar and a casual crowd near the beach. The launch menu is still being built around grilled steak, seafood and sauces made on the premises, which means real creative input for whoever gets the job. The employer states that visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Own kitchen operations completely and lead the team that runs them
- Finalise the opening menu and develop it further, covering grilled steaks, seafood and sauces made in-house
- Recruit, train and motivate a brigade that performs at a high level, and drive quality, consistency and efficiency through service
- Control ordering, food cost and prep systems and manage supplier relationships
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven as a Head Chef or Executive Sous Chef
- 5+ years of experience in fast-paced venues
- Genuine passion for cooking and for premium local ingredients
- Leadership that motivates and mentors staff and builds team culture
- Strong financial and operational acumen
- Ready to start immediately and drive a ground-up build
