A hospitality operator near Christchurch, New Zealand, has a permanent, full-time opening for a Duty Manager. Its venues, a hotel with an outdoor beer garden and a separate restaurant, sit in a coastal town, and the person hired moves between them.
This is a hands-on post. You run each shift, direct the floor staff, supervise people and take reservations, answering to the venue manager and the general manager. Licensing is non-negotiable: both venues must stay within the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and every condition of their licences, and you set the tone for a friendly, secure and well-run place. Expect pace and variety. This can be a sponsorship role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Eligibility
- Hold a current NZ Duty Manager Certificate (LCQ + Manager's Certificate), or be willing to obtain it
- A track record of supervising or managing in hospitality
- Clear communication, firm leadership and great problem-solving ability
- Solid knowledge of host responsibility and of keeping alcohol service compliant, plus an upbeat, proactive approach that holds steady, especially under pressure
