Financial Accountant

Onshore applicants only

Visa sponsorship

Accounting & Finance · Melbourne, VIC, Australia · Contract · $90,000 - $120,000/yr · Visa: Employer sponsored · Applicants: Onshore applicants only

A fast-growing digital marketplace company in Melbourne needs a Financial Accountant who can run a tight close and keep a group of entities compliant. The position is temporary-to-permanent. It gives the business immediate stability and gives the right hire a clear route into permanent full-time work.

You will answer to the Financial Controller and line up with the CFO on daily operations. This is a hands-on seat. An assistant accountant processes the routine transactions, while you test the core ledgers, hold the balance sheet to account and support the basic cash and budget cycle. Expect solid accounting fundamentals and neat reporting rather than advanced commercial models, in a lean team with no red tape and a direct line to senior leaders.

Eligible Working Holiday visa holders already in Australia with proven accounting capability can access full visa sponsorship with this employer.

Back yourself with a sharp English CV. Spell out the multi-entity closes you have owned, the BAS, GST and FBT lodgements you have prepared and any reconciliation work you have automated. Write a results-driven Financial Accountant CV with Build AI CV.

  • Run the short-term cash flow tracker, report expense variances against budget and compile data for annual budget roll-forwards
  • Automate recurring ledger reconciliations and transactional routines with the group's enterprise AI tools and automation platforms
  • Turn around ad-hoc schedules and documents for executives on group structuring and new entities

  • Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417 or 462) holders with full Australian work rights: you are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Strong personal accountability, high attention to detail and the adaptability to hold structure together in a dynamic scale-up
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication, and the confidence to deal directly with executive stakeholders
