Heavy plant experience plus a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment puts you in a strong position for this one. A Perth-based civil and mining training provider is hiring trainers and assessors to produce safe, confident, job-ready operators through one-on-one practical training on a live operating mine.
Two roles are open. 1 Civil Trainer & Assessor works Monday to Friday on 8-12 hour shifts, with alternating Saturdays available. 1 Dozer / Excavator Trainer handles production mining D11 and 3600 machines on the same weekday shifts and splits time between 2 mine sites.
The training site is about 60 minutes north of Perth CBD. No FIFO: you are home every night. Visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver nationally recognised training and conduct competency-based assessments to a high standard
- Train machine operators one-on-one, hands-on, on a live operating mine site
- Mentor students and prepare them for employment in civil and mining
- Follow site operating procedures and best industry practice at all times
- Comply with the WHS Act 2020, Mines Safety and Inspection legislation and RTO standards
- Keep every assessment credible: only competent operators get signed off, and all documentation is completed accurately
- Pull your weight in a supportive training team and keep the learning environment safe, professional and positive
- Mining trainer: step in on the civil side when Dozer & Excavator programmes are not running
Requirements & Eligibility
- Current TAE40122, TAE40116 or TAE40110 in hand
- Relevant experience operating civil and mining equipment
- Supervisory experience desirable
- Works well under pressure and makes decisions with confidence
- Works solo or as part of a team
- Excellent time management, crucial with customers who have paid
- Passionate about helping people and proud of high safety and training standards
- Reliable, professional and punctual
- Can pass a pre-employment medical and daily breathalyser requirements
- Civil Trainer: current competency and experience on multiple civil plant items is highly regarded, covering RIIMPO337E (Articulated Haul Truck), RIIMPO321F (Front End Loader), RIIMPO318F (Skid Steer Loader), RIIMPO320F (Civil Construction Excavator), RIIMPO317F (Roller), RIIHAN309F (Telehandler), RIIMPO206D (Bulk Water Truck), RIIHAN311F (Integrated Tool Carrier) and RIIMPO338E (Rigid Haul Truck)
- Mining Trainer: RIIMPO323E – Dozer and RIIMPO324F – Grader (RII qualifications desirable but not required); having the civil plant units above is an added advantage
