Metal Casting Trade Worker

Visa sponsorship

Trade · Christchurch, New Zealand · Full-Time · $35 - $41/hr · Visa: Employer sponsored

Here is a straight trade role for experienced foundry hands. A Christchurch manufacturer of marine propulsion systems, supplying more than 120 countries, needs a Metal Casting Trade Worker for its foundry in New Zealand.

The work is sand moulding first, then everything around it, from cores and pouring to knock-out, cleaning and fettling. The company asks for at least five years of practical sand moulding in a production foundry. You will cast Aluminium, AB2 aluminium bronze and Stainless Steel, and wider alloy experience is highly valued.

Shift work is part of the deal. You must take any of these when production needs it, namely 6:00am to 2:30pm, 7:00am to 3:30pm, 2:30pm to 10:30pm or 3:30pm to 11:30pm on Monday to Friday, or 10:30pm to 6:30am or 11:00pm to 7:00am on Sunday to Friday. When your shift pattern changes, you get two weeks' notice as a minimum.

On the visa question, be clear. The employer is accredited for New Zealand's Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) and may support sponsorship for suitably qualified applicants. That is a possibility, and the decision rests with the employer.

Your next practical move is a sharp English CV that proves the five years. Show each foundry, the moulding methods, the alloys and your crane and forklift record. put your foundry proof into a clean CV with Build AI CV.
