This is a hands-on Automation Technician role at a busy manufacturing site in New Zealand. You will cover PLCs and control systems, fix faults, and push plant improvements and automation projects along.
You work 45 hours a week, weekdays, mostly from 7am. Seasoned automation people from the employer's other locations back you up, there is plenty of project work, and you get real contact with AI and robotics.
The employer prefers suitably qualified candidates based in New Zealand but wants experienced overseas applicants to apply too. If you are the right fit, AEWV sponsorship may be on the table.

Key Responsibilities
- Programme PLCs, troubleshoot them and commission them
- Support HMI and SCADA systems
- Deliver upgrades and continuous improvement projects
- Diagnose electrical and control system faults
- Support plant reliability and performance
- Work with the engineering, maintenance and production teams and help bring new automation technologies on board
Requirements & Eligibility
- An electrical trade qualification or a similar one
- Ideally 4-5+ years in manufacturing or industrial automation
- Experience with common PLC platforms
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read electrical drawings and control schematics
- Self-motivated and practical
