A Gold Coast café with a high-volume kitchen needs a Sous Chef who can lead from the pass. You would lead alongside the Head Chef and one more Sous Chef, so the job is about shared responsibility, not working in isolation.
Here is what matters. You need experience in a similar role, you must be confident running a packed service, and you must be ready to work weekends. The employer is willing to consider sponsorship for the right applicant, and whoever is hired has to pass a 6-month probation period.
A senior chef who has supervised before and wants the next title can also apply.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the kitchen team through busy services and back them up when it gets hectic
- Run the kitchen day to day with the Head Chef and the other Sous Chef, including prep, sections and operations
- Hold food quality, presentation and consistency to a high standard
- Enforce food safety, cleanliness and kitchen standards, and train staff to meet them
- Take ownership of the kitchen when required and keep the culture positive and professional
Requirements & Eligibility
- Strong track record in a busy, high-volume café or similar kitchen
- Prior experience as a Sous Chef, senior chef or supervisor
- Confident leading a team and running a busy service, with good organisation and communication
- Reliable, calm under pressure and willing to take ownership
- Hands-on and happy to work with the team, with a strong grasp of food quality and consistency
- Available 5 days per week, Saturday and Sunday included
