Registered Nurse

Registered Nurses with genuine, verifiable experience: this premium residential aged care role in New Zealand is for applicants prepared to have their credentials assessed.

Be clear on what this is. It is not simply an overseas placement. You will be assessed on your nursing background, qualifications, English language ability and readiness to meet New Zealand professional requirements. Suitable international nurses can receive guidance through the Nursing Council registration process and, where applicable, the CAP pathway.

Day to day, clinical quality, resident dignity and individualised care sit at the centre of the work. Apply with documents you can verify, and nothing else.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor residents for any change in health and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Provide safe, individualised nursing care matched to each resident's needs
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and continuing health observations
  • Prepare and review personalised care plans
  • Keep clinical records accurate, complete and timely
  • Protect residents' dignity, independence and comfort and support their overall quality of life
  • Develop trusting, respectful relationships with residents and families
  • Collaborate with care assistants and other healthcare professionals
  • Mentor care assistants, give them clinical guidance and push for consistent best-practice care procedures
  • Take part in quality improvement initiatives that uphold high standards of clinical care and service delivery
  • Communicate clearly with residents, families and the care team
  • Exercise professional judgement when handling clinical and resident-care situations
  • Contribute to an environment that is culturally inclusive and respectful
  • Comply with relevant professional, clinical and workplace standards

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Must be able to prove that your qualifications, professional experience and supporting documents are authentic
  • Qualified Registered Nurse, with credentials suitable for assessment by the Nursing Council of New Zealand
  • Minimum 2 years' nursing experience gained post-graduation
  • Preferred: aged care or medical nursing experience
  • NZ Nursing Council CAP approval or willingness to complete the applicable registration pathway, plus willingness to undergo New Zealand nursing registration assessment
  • IELTS or OET results that satisfy the Nursing Council's English language requirements
  • Educational background that meets New Zealand Registered Nurse scope-of-practice standards
  • Verifiable qualifications and professional employment history you can provide
  • Strong clinical assessment, observation and documentation skills, with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated compassion and empathy towards older people in your care
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive, collaborative attitude
  • Professional, confident and accountable, with commitment to quality nursing and continuous improvement
  • InterRAI competency advantageous
  • Eligible overseas applicants may be considered for Accredited Work Visa sponsorship
  • Suitable candidates completing Nursing Council registration can receive support, and CAP assistance may be considered for eligible international nurses
