Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate clinical care on your shift and give ward-level leadership and guidance to care staff
- Assess residents' health, keep monitoring it and act when care needs change
- Provide nursing care that is safe, respectful and individual to each resident while protecting their dignity, comfort and quality of life
- Look after residents receiving palliative and end-of-life care
- Apply AN-ACC knowledge together with the correct aged care clinical practices and procedures
- Mentor team members, support staff development and collaborate with nurses, carers and other healthcare professionals
- Keep clinical records and all relevant documentation accurate, and communicate professionally with residents, families and colleagues
- Manage your clinical workload by setting priorities, and help hold standards of care and service quality high
- Work rotating morning, afternoon and night shifts
Requirements & Eligibility
- You must hold current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA and a recognised nursing qualification suitable for practice in Australia
- Demonstrated aged care experience, or experience in a comparable clinical environment
- Palliative care experience or knowledge, plus a working knowledge of AN-ACC
- Demonstrated experience in leadership or in mentoring a team
- Strong written and verbal communication, with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- A firm commitment to person-centred care and the ability to work confidently alone or in a team
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Ability to meet National Police Check requirements or obtain the check
- International applicants: you must meet Australian nursing registration requirements and you must satisfy applicable employer sponsorship and visa criteria
- Willingness to work a rotating roster that includes every shift type
