Registered Midwife

A private maternity service in Tasmania is recruiting experienced, dedicated Registered Midwives. Your skills, qualifications and clinical experience will be recognised, and you will be a key member of the care team.
The work involves supporting women and families from pregnancy through birth and the postnatal period, alongside experienced healthcare professionals. Structured clinical support, professional development and mentorship are provided so you can deepen your expertise in maternity and newborn care.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, respectful, evidence-based midwifery care across the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal stages
- Support women during labour and birth in line with their preferences and care plans
- Assess and monitor the health of mother and baby, escalating clinical concerns as needed
- Educate and emotionally support women and their families
- Assist with newborn care and support breastfeeding and early parenting
- Keep accurate clinical documentation and patient records
- Collaborate with obstetric, nursing, neonatal and allied health teams
- Join clinical education sessions, pursue ongoing professional development and contribute to quality improvement and a positive care environment
- Mentor student and graduate midwives where appropriate
Requirements & Eligibility
- Must hold current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA
- A recognised Midwifery qualification
- Demonstrated maternity care experience
- Strongly committed to woman-centred, evidence-based practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Committed to maintaining your professional knowledge and clinical competencies
- Highly regarded: experience in birth suite, antenatal, postnatal or special care nursery
- Available for permanent full-time, part-time or casual hours
