A Perth fencing manufacturer is hiring a Metal Fabricator / Welder, and the brief is straightforward: turn steel into quality frames, gates and other products. You will cut, shape and assemble components, MIG weld, and have the chance to learn other areas of the factory.
This is long-term work, and the employer is recruiting among tradespeople already in Australia who hold valid working rights; Working Holiday visa holders (417/462) with matching skills and experience can apply too. Key Responsibilities
- Cut, shape, prepare and assemble steel components to drawing
- Turn out metal frames, gates and other steel products
- Weld using MIG and other relevant processes
- Interpret technical drawings and fabrication specifications correctly
- Run fabrication machinery, equipment and hand tools, and inspect finished welds and products for quality and accuracy
- Learn other parts of the manufacturing operation and support other teams whenever needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Either a Certificate III/IV in welding or metal fabrication (or an overseas trade qualification that compares), backed by at least 12 months of relevant skilled employment over the last five years
- Or no formal qualifications, but at least three years of professional welding and/or skilled metal fabrication experience
- Practical competency as a welder and fabricator, with payslips and employer references covering your employment dates and skilled duties
- Present residence in Australia, with valid working rights
- Readiness to undergo a formal skills assessment if required
