Head Chef
Visa sponsorship
Hospitality · Gold Coast, QLD, Australia · Full-Time · Discussed at interview · Visa: Employer sponsored
This is a Head Chef job for someone who already knows how to run a kitchen under pressure. The employer is a Gold Coast hospitality group, and the role covers two venues that share a wall: a grill house with an award behind it, cooking smoked barbecue over long hours plus steaks and burgers, and a 1920s-inspired cocktail lounge with tapas for the table and private functions.
The chef in this seat reports to the Executive Chef, owns the menus, the team and the numbers, and gets on the line when it counts. If you need visa sponsorship, you can still apply: the group welcomes such candidates and will support the right one through the process where applicable.
Your CV should prove you can do all of that. Build a strong chef CV with Build AI CV and spell out the kitchens you have led, the covers you handled and your cookery certificate.

- Hold every dish to the standard for quality, flavour, presentation and portion

- Manage inventory, ordering and storage, keeping stock at the right level and waste low
- Keep food and labour costs within budget
- Draw up rosters for lunch, dinner and late-night trade
- Deliver functions, banquet menus and private events with front of house so service runs on time, while keeping up with trends and techniques
