Skilled with the clippers and the colour brush? A growing unisex salon in Tauranga, New Zealand, is hiring experienced Hairdressers and Barbers who bring creativity and a professional approach to every appointment.
This is hands-on work. Every client who sits in your chair should get top-level cutting, styling and grooming, done inside a modern salon with air-conditioning. Keeping people satisfied comes first, and the salon's health and hygiene rules are not up for debate. One key fact for applicants abroad: the salon is an accredited employer and offers visa sponsorship if required for a suitable candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Find out exactly what each client wants, whether that is a new cut, a colour change, a fresh style or a tidy beard shape
- Work with clippers, razors, scissors and other pro equipment to taper, trim and shape every cut, then finish the style
- Take care of the grooming side: beard and moustache lines, wet shaves and hot towel sessions
- Wash and condition hair, treat any scalp issue and point clients to products that suit them
- Handle colour from start to finish (tints, highlights, bleach and colour removal) as well as chemical work to straighten, relax or perm
- Finish looks with the blow dryer, flat iron, curling tongs and styling products, then tell clients how to look after their hair, scalp and style at home
- Keep your station, tools and equipment cleaned, maintained and sanitised to salon hygiene and health and safety standards, and take care of bookings, the daily schedule and payments when needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Two (2) years' full-time experience as a Hairdresser or Barber at minimum
- Proven technical skill in haircutting, colouring, styling and men's grooming
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills backed by a strong customer service focus
- Ability to work efficiently and cooperatively as a team member
- Sound knowledge of hygiene practices in a salon setting
- Sound knowledge of safety practices in a salon setting
