Wheel Aligner/ Tyre Fitter

A professional workshop in Ipswich, Queensland needs a Wheel Aligner/ Tyre Fitter who can prove their automotive skills, not just list them.

You must be able to show genuine hands-on ability across tyre fitting, wheel alignment and general automotive servicing. The employer is focused on practical expertise, dependability and work that is safe, accurate and of high quality every single time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work towards workshop KPIs and agreed job completion times
  • Carry out tyre fitting on passenger, commercial and 4WD vehicles, including on standard and aftermarket wheels
  • Perform wheel alignment checks and make adjustments on passenger vehicles and 4WDs
  • Complete light and medium servicing and maintenance work
  • Inspect tyres, wheels and associated components and deal with any tyre or wheel issues
  • Get workshop jobs done efficiently while holding quality standards
  • Stick to safe operating procedures and all workshop safety requirements
  • Keep workmanship accurate and professional on every task
  • Maintain clean, organised tools, equipment and work areas
  • Work independently and stand behind the work you complete
  • Support other team members with general workshop activities as required
  • Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Current manual driver's licence
  • Certificate III in Automotive or an equivalent qualification
  • Automotive industry experience that is demonstrated and verifiable
  • Practical experience in tyre fitting and wheel alignment
  • Experience with passenger, commercial and 4WD tyres and with fitting tyres to aftermarket wheels
  • Practical understanding of automotive maintenance and repairs
  • Can demonstrate genuine technical skills and prior workshop experience
  • Physically capable of lifting and handling tyres
  • Strong commitment to safety, accuracy and quality workmanship
  • Able to manage assigned tasks and work independently
  • Punctual, reliable and professional
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Good time management, meets deadlines and performs effectively in a busy workshop environment
  • Sponsorship available for suitably qualified candidates who hold the required experience
