Warehouse Supervisor (2IC)

Warehouse Supervisor, second in charge: this is a hands-on leadership role in New Zealand for someone with real logistics, inventory control, team coordination, customer service and day-to-day warehouse experience.

The job goes well beyond shifting stock. You will be a central operational figure who keeps activities organised, moves orders efficiently, backs the team and holds high standards of safety and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor DIFOT and overall customer order performance
  • Run and coordinate the warehouse's daily operations
  • Lead, motivate and support the warehouse team
  • Control the flow of goods: receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, deliveries and customer collections
  • Handle inbound shipments and stock moving between internal locations
  • Get customer orders processed accurately and on schedule
  • Set and coordinate delivery and collection schedules
  • Track stock levels, keep inventory records accurate and ensure warehouse systems always show current stock information
  • Run cycle counts and investigate any stock discrepancies
  • Enforce correct stock rotation and safe product storage
  • Keep the warehouse efficient, clean and organised
  • Make sure procedures and standard operating processes are followed, and support compliance requirements and operational certifications
  • Promote and monitor workplace health and safety
  • Coordinate staffing needs and temporary labour arrangements when required
  • Assist with servicing and certification of vehicles, machinery and equipment, and keep all equipment, vehicles and company property in safe condition
  • Coordinate incoming container processing and related warehouse tasks
  • Complete paperwork, timesheets, reports and compliance documentation
  • Identify process improvements and introduce practical initiatives that raise efficiency and productivity
  • Support the Warehouse Manager on operational planning and staffing
  • Work with the wider operations team to improve the customer experience, and build accountability, teamwork and a positive culture

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Overseas applicants must meet applicable New Zealand employment and visa requirements
  • Sponsorship is available for the right, verified candidate
  • Demonstrated background in warehouse supervision, logistics, distribution or supply chain operations
  • Experience leading or coordinating warehouse employees, and the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
  • Practical stock control and inventory management knowledge
  • Track record handling customer orders, dispatch, deliveries or collections
  • A working understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures
  • Confident in a hands-on warehouse environment
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple operational priorities
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • A customer-focused approach
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience using inventory or warehouse management systems
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Proactive about operational improvements, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Able to provide genuine, verifiable details of your past employment and relevant experience
