Key Responsibilities
- Process orders and payments accurately on the POS system
- Take customer orders correctly and relay requirements clearly to the relevant teams
- Serve food and beverages efficiently through busy trading periods
- Take charge of your assigned tables and sections and hold service quality steady
- Deliver meals and drinks promptly, and help with food and beverage running during peak service
- Carry and serve multiple plates safely
- Prepare tables ahead of service and clear and reset them between sittings
- Guide customers through menu and beverage choices
- Use your knowledge of food, wine and beverages to improve the guest experience
- Keep coordination tight with kitchen, bar and front-of-house colleagues
- Keep dining areas clean, organised and presentable
- Handle customer requests professionally, escalating issues when required, and give every guest a consistently professional and welcoming experience
- Follow responsible service, workplace safety and hygiene procedures and support a cooperative, high-performing team
Requirements & Eligibility
- You hold a current RSA Certificate
- You have demonstrated experience working as restaurant waitstaff or in food and beverage service
- You hold a relevant hospitality qualification, or you have equivalent industry experience
- You have proven you can cope in a busy, high-volume restaurant
- You put customers first, with a strong service mindset
- Your verbal communication and interpersonal skills are excellent
- You communicate in fluent English
- You can confidently look after multiple tables and sittings, and you can safely carry three plates
- You have used computerised POS systems before
- Wine and beverage knowledge will be highly regarded
- Your grooming and presentation are professional
- You are reliable, honest and well-spoken
- You pay strong attention to detail and stay calm and composed under pressure
- You can offer flexible availability on weekdays, evenings and weekends, and you are willing to contribute to a professional team
