Truck driver
Trade · Drury, Auckland, New Zealand · Full-Time · $34/hr
Licensed Class 2 and Class 5 truck drivers are needed for an established distribution team in New Zealand. The business depends on trustworthy drivers who keep vehicles, freight and customer drops safe and handle every job professionally.
Where you fit depends on your licence and suitability. Local drivers cover the Auckland region, while line-haul drivers take heavy combination vehicles between company sites, customers and distribution centres. There is more to it than driving: freight loading and unloading, getting vehicles ready and backing up the wider transport operation. Pre-employment drug screening is part of the requirements, so only apply if you can pass it.

- Drive Class 2 or Class 5 heavy vehicles responsibly and check your vehicle and its safety equipment as a routine
- Run the scheduled local delivery work around Auckland
- Take truck-and-trailer combinations on line-haul trips when needed, shifting products between operational sites, customers and distribution centres
- Hit the schedule for every delivery and collection
- Put freight on and take it off the truck safely, making sure it is properly secured
- Get trucks and freight set up for each day of operations
- Speak up quickly about any vehicle, freight or operational problem and fill in the delivery and transport paperwork that is required
- Deal professionally with customers and colleagues, and be a good face for the business out on the road
- Work on your own initiative while playing your part in the transport team
- Pitch in with other hands-on transport tasks when asked
- Handle shifting workloads, new routes and changing shift patterns
