Trades Assistant

Western Australia: a growing industrial repair business is hiring a Workshop Trades Assistant.

What they want is simple: the right attitude, reliability and hands-on ability. You will work alongside experienced technicians on electric motors, pumps, generators and rotating equipment, picking up Australian industry experience and useful mechanical and workshop skills along the way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety requirements and instructions
  • Support experienced tradespeople with workshop work, including equipment repairs and preparation
  • Under supervision, help dismantle motors, pumps and other rotating equipment, and clean and prepare components for repair
  • Move heavy equipment through the workshop and load and unload equipment and materials
  • Pack goods and prepare pallets
  • Handle local pickups and deliveries
  • Maintain tools, work areas and general workshop organisation
  • Develop your knowledge of industrial motors, pumps and generators

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Manual driver's licence
  • Forklift licence: preferred
  • Practical, mechanically minded and confident using tools
  • Previous workshop or mechanical experience preferred; experience in electrical, pump, maintenance, mining or industrial environments is advantageous
  • Reliable and on time
  • Physically fit for hands-on workshop duties
  • Willing to learn from experienced tradespeople and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Good team player with strong communication skills, and safety conscious
  • Verifiable employment and skills history
  • Eligible for Australian sponsorship and the applicable work visa requirements
