On shift, you will steer the delivery of quality care, support colleagues and help make sure residents are treated with dignity, respect and genuine compassion. The position is permanent, on a full-time or part-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Give medication and support related activities strictly within your authorised scope of practice
- Take the lead in delivering safe, respectful and person-centred care
- Supervise and back up care staff during allocated shifts
- Guide care staff right through each shift
- Organise the care requirements of residents in your assigned area
- Work hand in hand with nursing and clinical teams to keep care continuous
- Look after residents' physical, emotional and social wellbeing
- Make sure care matches each resident's individual needs, preferences and goals
- Keep track of residents' nutrition and hydration requirements
- Take part in pressure care management and other clinical activities
- Keep care documentation accurate and use the workplace systems and technology that support care delivery
- Promote clear communication within the care team and contribute to a supportive, professional, resident-focused culture
- Follow workplace health and safety requirements and high standards of infection prevention and control
Requirements & Eligibility
- Ability to show evidence of professional qualifications and registration
- Diploma of Enrolled Nursing or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Current AHPRA registration as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse
- Authorisation to give medication within the relevant professional scope
- Current National Police Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or willingness to get one
- Proven integrity, reliability and accountability in your professional work
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Capable of supervising, guiding and supporting other care staff
- Commitment to compassionate, person-centred aged care
- Grasp of workplace health and safety practices and knowledge of infection prevention and control procedures
- Comfortable using relevant technology and workplace information systems, and willing to keep up ongoing professional learning and development
- Previous residential aged care experience will be highly regarded
- International candidates who meet the verified eligibility requirements may be considered for visa sponsorship
