A Spray Painter with real, proven finishing skills is needed for premium custom joinery and furniture work in Mount Kuring-Gai, Sydney.
Let us be straight: this job is not just about operating a spray gun. Surface preparation, even coatings, colour matching and a professional final appearance are at the centre of it. You will work in an established production environment beside an experienced paint team, on projects where workmanship and detail are essential.
Candidates with a strong, verifiable furniture or joinery spray painting background should apply, and you will be asked to show your skills in a practical trial. Remember: a genuine employer will never ask you to pay for a job offer.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow established OH&S procedures and every workshop safety requirement
- Carry out sanding and detailed surface preparation ahead of coating
- Apply polyurethane finishes, timber stains and clear protective coats to custom joinery and furniture
- Deliver consistent colour, coverage and surface finish on all projects
- Inspect completed work and flag areas that need correction or improvement
- Prepare finished items to meet production schedules
- Liaise with factory and operations personnel on job requirements and work efficiently within the dedicated paint team
- Keep the spray booth clean and the workplace organised, handling finishing materials and equipment responsibly
- Hold a consistently high standard of workmanship on each project
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated professional experience as a Spray Painter
- Hands-on experience with polyurethane coatings, and with finishing timber, furniture or custom joinery
- Strong knowledge of sanding and surface preparation
- Able to achieve consistent professional-quality finishes, with a good eye for detail, colour and surface quality
- Punctual and reliable, with good communication skills
- Able to work independently and within a small team
- Committed to workplace safety and quality procedures
- Australian working rights preferred
- Own transport preferred
- Able to demonstrate relevant skills and experience through a practical trial
