Permanent full-time Shotcreter job in Sydney, NSW. The employer wants a senior operator with proven hands-on experience in specialist ground support and shotcrete work.
You will need to show that you have really run shotcrete equipment, produced quality spray work and stayed safe in complex ground engineering environments. Your practical background, technical ability and project record will decide whether you are suitable.
Expect to work beside seasoned anchoring and drilling teams on ground stabilisation jobs where accuracy, consistency and safety cannot be compromised. Make sure your work history can be verified, and be wary of anyone asking for money to secure a job.
Key Responsibilities
- Stick to the safety, quality and operating rules set for each project
- Run shotcrete machines and equipment on specialist ground support jobs
- Get surfaces ready, then spray shotcrete to the project specifications
- Mix and spray concrete using the correct techniques
- Back up anchoring and drilling crews while ground engineering work is under way
- Be accountable for shotcrete tasks each day on the projects you are given
- Deliver workmanship and spray quality that stay consistent
- Build up team members' practical skills and push for strong safety awareness during shotcrete work
- Watch the condition of equipment and handle routine maintenance
- Notice when site or weather conditions change and react correctly
- Cooperate with supervisors, operators and other people on site so projects are delivered efficiently and successfully
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven professional work history as a Shotcreter
- Demonstrated hands-on use of shotcrete machinery and related equipment
- Strong practical knowledge of spraying shotcrete and mixing concrete
- Background in ground engineering, ground support or related construction work
- Previous relevant jobs and technical experience that you can demonstrate and verify
- Ability to fit into a team and cooperate effectively with anchoring and drilling crews
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and health in the workplace
- Nationally accredited OHS Card / White Card or equivalent
- Full driving licence
- Own reliable transport
- MR licence where applicable, for line pump operations
- Ability to cope with demanding site and environmental conditions
- Ability to pass a project-specific pre-employment medical as well as drug and alcohol screening
- Relevant Australian work rights, or eligibility for employment sponsored by an employer
- Visa sponsorship on offer for suitably qualified candidates whose experience is verifiable
