Position: Senior Electrical Engineer, rolling stock. Location: Newstead, Brisbane. A verified Australian employer needs an experienced engineer to support delivery of complex rolling stock engineering projects across Queensland.
You should bring a strong background in rail vehicle electrical systems, fleet upgrades and engineering assurance. The job involves reviewing technical solutions with engineering specialists and project teams, overseeing major modification programs and confirming that every delivery stage meets strict safety, quality and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Run engineering inspections plus testing, commissioning and acceptance work
- Act as technical lead on electrical rolling stock engineering projects, ensuring electrical engineering requirements are delivered throughout
- Assess design proposals, technical submissions and overhaul documentation
- Coordinate engineering work with project managers, contractors and technical specialists
- Back fleet modification, refurbishment and reliability improvement programs
- Draft procedures, technical reports, scopes of work and engineering specifications
- Diagnose equipment faults and deliver workable engineering solutions
- Oversee engineering quality, compliance and project performance
- Work with suppliers, maintenance crews and operational stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement in safety and asset reliability
- Put complex technical information across clearly to a broad mix of stakeholders
Requirements & Eligibility
- Holder of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Extensive rolling stock or rail vehicle electrical engineering experience, with strong knowledge of electrical system modifications, upgrades and overhaul programs
- A history of leading engineering investigations as well as testing and commissioning activities
- Can develop scopes of work, engineering specifications and technical documentation
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Current unrestricted driver's licence
