Security Officer

This is a sensitive, high-security role in Queensland, Australia, and the recruitment process is strict for good reason. Every candidate's identity, credentials and suitability must be properly assessed before working in a security-sensitive environment.

Your job will be to keep operations secure, protect people and assets, control access and respond to security concerns. Having a security qualification is not enough on its own. You need professionalism, sound judgement, discretion and real personal responsibility.

Sponsorship opportunities may be available to eligible candidates who meet the employment, visa and security requirements. Candidates without the required clearance may be considered for support through the clearance process, subject to eligibility and conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Control entry to secure facilities, admitting only authorised individuals, and run routine patrols to spot potential concerns
Watch activity across the site and act on suspicious behaviour, alarms, incidents and emergencies
Present a firm but approachable professional presence and talk clearly with authorised personnel, contractors and visitors
Apply security procedures and site protocols the same way every time
Exercise sound judgement in handling incidents and escalating concerns
Complete accurate reports, logs and security documentation, keeping sensitive information confidential
Support a secure, respectful and professional workplace

Requirements & Eligibility

Current QLD Security Licence
Australian Citizenship may be required for security clearance eligibility; a current security clearance is advantageous
Willing and eligible to go through the required security clearance process
Able to successfully satisfy identity, credential and background verification checks that apply
High integrity, honesty and accountability
Strong communication skills, sharp attention to detail and situational awareness
Stays calm and professional under pressure and follows strict security and operational procedures
Previous experience in security or another sensitive operational environment is desirable
Meets the relevant sponsorship eligibility requirements where applicable
