Roofer / solar Installer

Straight to the point: a growing renewable energy business delivering commercial and industrial projects across NSW needs a practical, motivated Solar Installation Technician.

The employer is looking for people who can prove genuine hands-on skills and relevant experience, and who properly understand safe work practices. A solar background is one route in, but transferable construction and installation experience is also considered, and your practical capability will be assessed against the role's requirements.

You will work with an experienced team on solar installation projects, with opportunities to develop your technical skills in renewable energy. Applicants from Nigeria or elsewhere should be ready to show real evidence of their work history.

Key Responsibilities

Keep to established workplace health and safety procedures
Keep work areas organised and clear of safety hazards
Assist on commercial and industrial solar system installations
Install and position solar panels and mounting structures, supervised by the team
Use hand tools and basic power tools correctly and move materials, equipment and components safely
Work to technical drawings, manuals and installation instructions
Support daily installation activities, including site preparation, set-up and clean-up
Collaborate with installers, supervisors and other site staff
Complete assigned tasks carefully, paying attention to quality and detail, and work independently when required
Travel interstate for projects whenever necessary

Requirements & Eligibility

Australian Driver Licence held
Your own vehicle and dependable transport
Hands-on experience relevant to solar, construction, electrical support or installation work
Prior solar installation work is advantageous but not essential
Ability to demonstrate genuine employment experience and practical skills
Ability to read and understand technical drawings, manuals and work instructions
Strong practical thinking and problem-solving skills
Reliable, motivated and committed attitude to work
Strong focus on safety in the workplace
Ability to work effectively on your own and within a team
Willing to travel interstate as required
Construction White Card or willingness to obtain one, and Height Safety ticket or willingness to obtain one
Genuine interest in a long-term career in renewable energy
