This is a full-time Roofer position in Hamilton, New Zealand, with a professional roofing and cladding workforce that delivers large-scale commercial projects on modern construction systems. Experienced roofers are wanted, and construction workers with suitable practical skills may also fit.

Key Responsibilities

Work safely with roofing tools, equipment and materials, spotting hazards and obeying every workplace and site safety procedure
Study drawings, specifications and site requirements to decide what materials the job needs, based on both the plans and conditions on site
Handle commercial roofing installation and the construction work that comes with it
Place roofing materials accurately in line with project requirements, using modern roofing, cladding and architectural systems
Take measurements and make cuts for roof penetrations, vents, corners, ridges and other areas
Install edge and ridge flashings and secure them properly
Set waterproof sheets and roofing underlay in the correct position and hold the underlay down with the right fixing method
Align starter sheets accurately, then fasten the roofing sheets securely with correct overlaps
Inspect what you have completed, correct any installation issues and hold a consistent standard of workmanship and finish
Collaborate productively with supervisors and other construction professionals in an organised, safety-conscious workplace
Travel out to project locations as needed

Requirements & Eligibility

Practical understanding of how to stay safe on a construction site, plus the physical capability for roofing and construction duties
A proven record in roofing is preferred
Sponsorship may be considered for overseas Roofers who have experience
Highly regarded: a background in commercial roofing or cladding
People with construction experience and transferable trade skills may be considered
Ability to measure, cut and fit roofing materials with accuracy, and to interpret construction drawings and specifications
Close attention to detail, a quality-first mindset and solid practical problem-solving skills
A reliable, committed team player
Readiness to learn new roofing and cladding techniques
Willing to move between project sites when required
Overseas applicants must meet the applicable New Zealand employment and immigration requirements
