A growing organisation in Western Australia wants an experienced Retail Manager to oversee the daily operations of a busy hospitality business. The position offers long-term career development for a motivated hospitality professional with strong leadership and business management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make sure the business complies with food safety regulations and company policies
  • Maintain workplace health and safety standards
  • Oversee day-to-day business operations
  • Supervise daily store activities
  • Monitor sales and profitability
  • Control labour costs and operating expenses
  • Build and manage the staff roster
  • Recruit, onboard and train new employees, then coach, mentor and manage their performance
  • Maintain strong customer service standards
  • Respond to customer enquiries and resolve complaints in a professional way
  • Check inventory levels and coordinate stock purchases
  • Carry out regular stocktakes and minimise wastage
  • Keep supplier relationships in good order
  • Analyse sales reports to find improvement opportunities, and implement strategies that increase revenue and operational efficiency
  • Keep food quality, presentation and service consistent
  • Keep business and operational records accurate and up to date
  • Support continued business growth and team development

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Suitable overseas applicants are encouraged to apply
  • Minimum 2 years full-time as a Retail Manager, Café Manager or in a comparable hospitality management position
  • Experience managing a high-volume retail or hospitality operation
  • Has supervised and led a team of 10 or more employees
  • Experience doing staff rosters and managing labour costs
  • Experience in purchasing and inventory control
  • Strong skills in sales analysis and financial management
  • Excellent people management and leadership abilities, and strong customer service and communication skills
  • Can solve problems and make sound business decisions
  • Uses POS systems and Microsoft Office
  • Knows food safety and workplace health and safety requirements
  • Able to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • A relevant Hospitality, Business or Management qualification is advantageous
  • Desirable: Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • Desirable: First Aid Certificate
  • Hospitality POS systems experience is an advantage, and experience opening new stores or managing multiple locations is advantageous
