Restaurant Manager

An established hospitality business in Noosa Heads, Sunshine Coast needs a Restaurant Manager who has actually led teams, run service operations and held high standards in a busy restaurant, and who can prove it.

The role is hands-on and goes well beyond getting food to tables. You will answer for people, performance, organisation and the full guest experience, while working hand in hand with the kitchen and the wider management group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Check that food safety, licensing, WH&S and wider compliance obligations are met, and keep the dining room spotless, well presented and at service standard
  • Run the restaurant each day and set the tone for a professional hospitality environment by example
  • Supervise the floor staff and spell out what is expected of them in service and at work
  • Coach team members so standards do not slip
  • Build rosters, decide staffing needs and track labour use and efficiency
  • Make sure the floor team and the kitchen stay in step
  • Take charge of guest service from breakfast through lunch to dinner
  • Field customer questions, feedback and complaints, plus reservations and booking requests
  • Control stock levels, inventory and the restaurant's records
  • Have input into menu development, seasonal changes and ways to run things better
  • Partner with management to sharpen processes and lift how the team performs

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Must meet applicable sponsorship and visa eligibility requirements
  • Minimum two years in a relevant full-time restaurant management role, and/or a relevant diploma
  • A record of being accountable for running restaurant operations
  • Work history connected to this position that can be checked, along with documents proving your past professional experience
  • Strong leadership and staff-management skills, and confident speaking and writing
  • Good organisational and time-management abilities
  • Hands-on rostering and workforce coordination, plus a grasp of labour costs and how to control restaurant costs
  • Strong customer service and the ability to resolve conflict
  • Keeps organised and effective when the restaurant is busy
  • Professional, dependable and accountable, with a genuine interest in hospitality operations and building a team
  • Able to hold consistent standards across service, presentation and cleanliness
