Refrigeration Mechanic

FIFO Refrigeration Mechanic role in Western Australia.

The employer needs dependable tradespeople who can work independently, solve technical problems and keep standards high in demanding site environments. Technical ability, safety, flexibility and consistent service delivery are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stick to the site's safety rules and compliance obligations on every task
  • Get each job done without cutting corners on safety or speed
  • Service refrigeration plant on schedule and handle preventative upkeep
  • Trace faults in refrigeration systems and put them right
  • Fix and look after refrigeration units and the gear connected to them
  • Find electrical and mechanical faults
  • Attend breakdowns and any urgent maintenance call-outs
  • Inspect plant, flag what maintenance is needed and keep service reports and paperwork accurate
  • Liaise with maintenance crews and other people working on site
  • Keep your tools, equipment and work area in good order and provide dependable service at remote sites

Requirements & Eligibility

  • You hold a valid ARC Licence
  • You hold a current WA Restricted Electrical Licence
  • You have a current driver's licence
  • You are a qualified Refrigeration Mechanic with relevant trade certification
  • You have worked in commercial and/or domestic refrigeration
  • You can provide an Australian Federal Police Clearance issued within the last 6 months
  • You will obtain or convert licences and certifications where required
  • Working at Heights and EWP certification, or you are willing to complete it
  • First Aid, LV Rescue and CPR certification, or you are willing to complete it
  • White Card / Construction Card, or you are willing to obtain it
  • You can meet medical and drug and alcohol screening requirements
  • You are physically able to handle 12-hour shifts in demanding environments, approach FIFO work flexibly and reliably, and are strongly committed to safety
  • You hold eligible Australian/New Zealand working rights or are suitable for sponsorship
