This is a residential leadership role for an experienced Project Manager at a major underground hard rock mining operation in Ontario, Canada. The employer is a globally recognised underground mining contractor.

You will report to the Operations Manager and be accountable for the full site: safe, efficient delivery of underground mining, financial performance, client relationships, operational excellence and workforce development.

Key Responsibilities
- Keep the operation compliant with relevant mining legislation, company policies and safety systems
- Be a visible leader who promotes a strong safety culture on site
- Lead underground development activities
- Lead underground production activities
- Meet operational targets in a safe, efficient way and within budget
- Control project budgets and forecasting
- Manage cost control and overall financial performance
- Watch operational performance closely and push improvement initiatives forward continuously
- Manage mining equipment and operational resources for maximum productivity
- Build up and mentor leadership and site teams so they perform at a high level
- Handle workforce planning, recruitment and succession planning
- Keep relationships with the client strong by communicating and collaborating well
- Identify operational risks and apply practical ways to mitigate them
- Run contractual administration, reporting and performance monitoring
- Push operational excellence across safety, productivity and quality standards
- Encourage a positive workplace culture centred on teamwork and continuous improvement
Requirements & Eligibility
- Able and ready to relocate internationally
- Extensive hands-on experience running hard rock operations underground
- Previous experience in a senior mining site leadership or project management role, along with project management and operational reporting experience
- Holds a Mining Engineering qualification or any other relevant tertiary qualification
- Strong background managing underground mining contracts and client relationships
- Proven record in budgeting and financial management, with sound commercial decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, plus excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Knows underground mining safety systems and compliance requirements well
- Has worked in both development and production settings underground
- Mining leadership experience from an international setting will be highly regarded
- Holding a Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency or an Underground Supervisor's Certificate of Competency will be highly regarded
- Mining management software experience will be advantageous
