Project Engineer
Trade · Perth WA, Australia · Full-Time · $80,000/yr
A Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer is needed for major civil, marine and recreational developments across Western Australia. The job title alone is not what counts here. The employer wants verified professional capability: proper engineering qualifications, practical site experience and solid project coordination skills.
Engineers in this team are trusted to take ownership. You will cover technically varied construction work, coordinating contractors, handling interfaces and solving problems before they affect delivery. Practical judgement carries as much weight as technical knowledge.
Work sponsorship is available for suitably qualified international professionals. Make sure every qualification and experience claim you submit is accurate and can be checked.
Key Responsibilities
- Be accountable for the construction activities given to you and their results, running the site day to day and tracking progress
- Keep subcontractors, suppliers and specialist trades working together
- Help build the project programme and schedule, and keep costs under control
- Handle the points where civil, marine, structural and public realm packages meet, and supervise specialist works like piling, fender systems, revetments, drainage, landscaping and associated civil construction
- Work through what the build calls for, find workable ways to deliver it and spot chances to make it more buildable, efficient and successful
- Keep paperwork in order: ITPs, HIRACs, inspection records, project records and progress reports
- Make sure safety, quality and environmental rules are followed
- Be the contact point for clients, consultants, contractors and relevant stakeholders
- Coach graduate and junior engineering staff

- A record of coordinating subcontractors and construction teams, backed by knowledge of scheduling, cost management and quality assurance on projects
- A clear communicator who handles stakeholders well and keeps organised, accurate documentation

- Takes workplace safety and quality standards seriously
- Proactive, takes ownership and works effectively in multidisciplinary construction teams
- Real interest in delivering major infrastructure and community-focused projects
