A growing construction team in Queensland (QLD) is hiring an accomplished Senior Project Engineer for complex civil construction works.

The role demands someone who can own project coordination, give sound technical guidance and contribute with confidence to successful delivery. Candidates are assessed on qualifications, engineering background, project exposure and overall suitability, so your experience needs to be real and well documented.

Key Responsibilities

Promote strong safety standards and keep them in place across all project activities
Coordinate and oversee engineering on major civil construction projects, supporting the Project Manager to deliver them safely, efficiently and on agreed timeframes
Check that construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, budgets and project requirements
Develop project plans, programs and construction schedules, then monitor progress and keep them updated
Advise project teams and site personnel on technical and engineering matters
Interpret and review drawings across civil, structural and services disciplines
Identify technical issues and manage technical queries until they are closed out
Assist with procuring and engaging subcontractors and suppliers
Monitor the performance, costs and deliverables of subcontractors and suppliers
Coordinate construction sequencing so works match approved programs
Monitor quality requirements and enforce appropriate quality control procedures
Support project cost management and budget monitoring, including monthly financial reports and cost-to-complete forecasts
Identify risks, construction issues and potential delays on the project
Work closely with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders

Requirements & Eligibility

Available to work a 2/1 DIDO/BIBO roster
Civil Engineering Degree or an equivalent qualification
Minimum 7 years' engineering experience in civil infrastructure or construction
Demonstrated contribution to delivering major civil projects and a strong understanding of civil construction methodologies
Can confidently interpret civil, structural and services drawings, manage technical queries and resolve engineering issues
Sound knowledge of construction planning, sequencing and scheduling
Experience managing supplier and subcontractor budgets
Understanding of quality control and quality assurance systems
Strong project management and commercial awareness
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to health and safety in the workplace
Relevant Australian work rights or eligibility for employer sponsorship; employer sponsorship is available for suitably qualified and experienced candidates
