Key Responsibilities
- Find the root cause of manufacturing, testing and product quality problems through a structured analysis approach
- Introduce corrective and preventive actions that make products more reliable and help manufacturing perform better
- Drive new products from prototype stage through to full production
- Coordinate with engineering, quality, purchasing and manufacturing teams during the whole product development process
- Develop, validate and improve manufacturing processes for both electronic and mechanical products
- Support test systems, fixtures and production equipment used in manufacturing
- Study production data and highlight where efficiency, quality and cost can get better
- Back lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous process improvement projects
- Write and update engineering documentation and manufacturing procedures
- Prepare and maintain test plans and engineering change documentation
- Partner with suppliers and manufacturing partners on production readiness
- Work with those same suppliers and partners on ongoing improvements
- Give technical support during production runs and help with sustaining engineering activities
- Travel internationally now and then when required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in electronics and mechanical manufacturing environments
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a closely related engineering field
- Sound knowledge of new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing readiness, plus experience developing, supporting or troubleshooting manufacturing test fixtures and production equipment
- Understanding of electronics manufacturing, assembly processes, quality systems and inventory management
- Able to review manufacturing processes and drive productivity and quality improvements
- Experience with PCB assembly manufacturing and electronic production testing is highly desirable
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management systems or engineering documentation is advantageous
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical skills
- A strong communicator who works well with cross-functional teams and has professional English communication skills
- Willing to travel internationally on an occasional basis
