A motorcycle dealership with a long-standing presence in Queensland needs a Motorcycle Mechanic who can prove real experience diagnosing, servicing and repairing motorcycles.
The job is practical. You will be expected to apply your trade knowledge with confidence, stick to technical procedures and produce repair results that are consistent every time. Work covers servicing, fault diagnosis, mechanical repairs and post-repair testing, under professional workshop and safety standards.
Your hands-on experience, trade background and genuine motorcycle mechanical skills are what will be assessed. Be careful of anyone who asks for money to secure this or any job: a genuine employer will never ask you to pay for a job offer.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle urgent mechanical repairs and breakdown-related work when required
- Find mechanical and electrical faults using suitable testing and diagnostic equipment
- Inspect each motorcycle for faults, wear and maintenance needs
- Carry out servicing and preventative maintenance to manufacturer requirements
- Take apart, inspect and put back together motorcycle engines and mechanical assemblies
- Repair or replace mechanical components that are worn or faulty
- Service and repair braking, suspension, steering and transmission systems
- Do engine servicing, oil changes, lubrication and tune-ups
- Follow technical manuals and manufacturer procedures on every repair, then test and adjust the motorcycle afterwards to confirm it performs properly
- Identify what repair work is needed and pass on the relevant technical information
- Record completed repairs, servicing and parts used accurately
- Keep the workshop organised and compliant with workplace safety requirements
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum two years of relevant industry experience, with demonstrated hands-on servicing and repair work on motorcycles
- Relevant Motorcycle Mechanical Technology qualification or an equivalent trade qualification, plus evidence supporting your qualifications and employment experience
- Sharp mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Working knowledge of motorcycle engine, electrical, braking, suspension, steering and transmission systems
- Can operate motorcycle diagnostic and workshop equipment
- Can understand and follow technical manuals and manufacturer specifications
- Proven commitment to accuracy and quality in your workmanship
- Strong understanding of workshop safety procedures, and able to work effectively alone or within a professional team
