Full-time trade vacancy: Metal Fabricator (Boilermaker Welder) with an established industrial engineering and maintenance operation in Western Australia.

The work is practical and hands-on. You will cover metal fabrication, welding, assembly, repairs and maintenance, splitting your time between the workshop and the field. Field work includes site maintenance and breakdown response.

Key Responsibilities

Stick to safe work procedures and every rule that applies on site
Work out what is needed from engineering drawings, plans and specs
Take measurements and mark out each job before fabrication starts
Cut structural and mechanical stock and get it ready for use
Bend metal parts and shape them to size
Put together fabricated parts and full structures
Weld, and handle the related fabrication steps
Fix and modify plant and equipment, and help maintain fixed and mobile plant
Go out to breakdowns and carry out corrective fixes
Take on fabrication jobs both in the workshop and at site locations
Check every finished piece for quality and accuracy, making sure it matches the specs and standards required
Run the workshop machines and fabrication gear, and look after routine machine servicing
Keep your work area neat, organised and professional

Requirements & Eligibility

Trade qualification: Australian Recognised Trade Certificate III or equivalent
Experience: minimum 3 years full-time in Metal Fabrication
Proven experience as a Boilermaker/Welder
Strong skills in fabrication and welding
Competent in reading engineering drawings
National Police Certificate
Must successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment
Must successfully complete drug and alcohol screening
Construction White Card
Working at Heights and Confined Space certifications, each obtained within the past 2 years
Valid Australian Driver Licence
Strong commitment to safety and quality
Good communication and teamwork skills
Australian citizenship, permanent residency or relevant work rights; sponsorship available for suitable overseas applicants
