Qualified Metal Fabricator needed for a long-term construction team in Perth, delivering structural steel installation and on-site fabrication across Western Australia. You will need to back your experience with recognised credentials and proven structural steel capability, so have your documents in order.

The team wants professionals who take pride in precise work, safe practices and strong teamwork. Skilled visa sponsorship is on offer for eligible candidates once they pass a skills assessment and interview process.

Key Responsibilities

Follow safe work practices and maintain quality standards on live construction sites
Read and interpret structural drawings
Understand welding symbols and fabrication specifications
Plan fabrication work on site using work orders and project requirements
Set up materials, tools and portable fabrication equipment
Measure, mark and cut structural steel to accurate dimensions
Shape, straighten and form steel plates and sections
Assemble steel structures by bolting and welding
Use lifting equipment and coordinate with the rigging crew to place components safely
Carry out tack welding
Complete final structural welds
Weld with MMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW processes when required
Alter existing steelwork through cutting, drilling and welding

Requirements & Eligibility

Australian work rights, or eligibility for sponsorship under Skills in Demand (subclass 482)
Recognised trade qualification in fabrication or boilermaking
A minimum three years of structural steel experience post-trade
Proven MMAW, GMAW and FCAW welding competency
Able to read structural engineering drawings
Able to read welding specifications
Holder of a current White Card
Holder of a current Working at Heights certification
Physically fit for on-site fabrication work in demanding conditions
Current driver's licence
Access to reliable transport
