A Mechanic vacancy with a specialised maintenance team in Western Australia, working on fleet vehicles and aviation-related Ground Support Equipment (GSE). The work goes beyond a normal workshop, calling on your diagnostic, mechanical and breakdown-maintenance skills across different types of equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Follow workplace, operational and aviation safety procedures at all times
- Service, inspect and maintain the fleet vehicles and specialised mechanical equipment
- Carry out preventative maintenance on schedule as well as corrective repairs
- Troubleshoot mechanical, diesel and hydraulic systems and repair faults once accurately diagnosed
- Handle breakdown call-outs and urgent mechanical maintenance
- Maintain Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and other specialised fleet assets
- Inspect equipment condition to pick up potential mechanical problems
- Meet the required safety and quality standards on every repair
- Keep accurate and clear service and maintenance records
- Report on work completed, faults found and further repairs required
- Work independently and communicate effectively with the wider team
- Back up colleagues on breakdowns, servicing and repair jobs, and keep tools and equipment safe and serviceable
- Deal with clients and site personnel in a professional way that represents the organisation well
Requirements & Eligibility
- Qualified as a Light Vehicle Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Preferred: approximately 5 years or more of relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated practical mechanical experience on light or heavy vehicles
- A current HR Driver’s Licence
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical fault-finding ability
- Can prove genuine, practical trade experience
- A reliable, professional approach and strong attention to safety and quality
- Works independently and within a team
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Able to obtain a Police Clearance
- Able to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Able to complete drug and alcohol screening successfully
- Able to operate in a specialised, safety-critical environment
- Advantageous: heavy equipment or fleet maintenance experience
- Diesel mechanical experience is advantageous, and hydraulic systems experience is an advantage
- Breakdown maintenance experience is advantageous, welding skills are a bonus, and Ground Support Equipment or aviation-sector experience is desirable
