Key Responsibilities

  • Test vehicles after repairs to confirm they operate correctly
  • Inspect vehicles and assess their mechanical condition before recommending any repair
  • Diagnose faults using systematic troubleshooting and suitable diagnostic methods
  • Identify underlying mechanical problems and decide on the right repair
  • Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Perform general mechanical repairs
  • Repair and replace engines and transmissions
  • Repair and replace suspension components and other mechanical systems
  • Operate workshop tools and diagnostic equipment safely and accurately
  • Meet professional quality and safety standards on every repair
  • Keep work practices accurate and professional throughout each job
  • Give apprentices and junior technicians practical technical guidance
  • Maintain a clean, safe and efficient workshop
  • Cooperate with the wider automotive team

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Recognised Motor Mechanic trade qualification, or an equivalent qualification gained overseas
  • Preferred: minimum 2 years of relevant hands-on automotive experience
  • Genuine, demonstrable vehicle diagnosis, servicing and repair experience
  • Previous dealership or professional workshop experience is an advantage
  • Evidence to support your qualifications and previous employment
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills
  • High-standard workmanship and attention to detail
  • Current driver's licence
  • Able to drive both manual and automatic vehicles
  • Capable of working independently and owning the work you complete
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Professional attitude and commitment to workplace safety
  • Willing to relocate to the Northern Territory
  • Visa sponsorship may be considered for candidates who need it, subject to suitability and verification of qualifications and experience
