Qualified Maintenance Fitters and Electrical Fitter Mechanics with real practical skills are wanted for sophisticated manufacturing operations in Australia. Your job will be to keep those operations running.

Expect more than routine maintenance. You will use your verified trade qualification and hands-on experience, plus sharp technical problem-solving, to keep automated production equipment maintained, handle breakdowns and make equipment more reliable. Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot automated and electrical production equipment
Get to the bottom of mechanical breakdowns and equipment faults and fix them
Find electrical faults and return machinery to working condition
Inspect machinery on the production line, flag potential maintenance problems and complete planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing
Repair, replace and maintain mechanical parts of machines
Operate PLC-controlled equipment and automated production systems, plus VSDs and related electrical controls where required
Investigate repeat failures and help improve reliability
Back up maintenance projects and planned shutdowns
Work hand in hand with production teams to cut downtime on equipment
Keep manufacturing equipment operating safely and efficiently
Obey workplace health, electrical, food safety and quality procedures
Contribute to ongoing improvements in the maintenance operation

Requirements & Eligibility

Recognised trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner
Electrical positions: Certificate III Electrical or Electrical Fitter Mechanic qualification
Electrical applicants: minimum 5 years' industrial electrical experience
Electrical applicants: VSD experience
Demonstrated industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience, including maintaining automated production machinery
Strong practical diagnostic and fault-finding ability
Background in preventative maintenance programs
Preferred: PLC experience with Allen Bradley or Siemens
Current unrestricted Class C driver's licence
Desirable: High Risk Electrical Work Licence
Desirable: MEX or similar maintenance management system experience
Strong commitment to quality workmanship and safety
Effective communication with maintenance and production teams, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team
Available for rotating 12-hour shifts, including days, nights and weekends
Australian-recognised trade qualification required to be considered for sponsorship
Sponsorship available for suitably qualified candidates already based in Australia
