Line Chef

Hospitality · Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand · Full-Time · $25 - $30/hr

  • Assist with fresh pasta preparation and traditional dough production
  • Support stock control, ordering, food cost management and inventory procedures
  • Work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and wider kitchen team
  • Uphold a disciplined, professional kitchen environment
  • Contribute to team development and help establish strong kitchen practices

  • Proven commercial kitchen experience
  • Experience handling busy or high-volume service periods
  • Strongly preferred: Italian cuisine experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a kitchen section without supervision
  • Strong knowledge of hygiene, food safety and food preparation
  • Understanding of commercial kitchen systems and stock control
  • Preferred: a relevant cookery qualification such as NZ Level 4 or equivalent
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to keep standards consistent under pressure
