Junior Accountant

A well-established agribusiness in Western Australia needs a motivated Accountant / Bookkeeper. The role is open to an experienced finance professional or a junior accountant who wants a long-term career in a supportive, growing business.

You will work closely with senior finance leadership and take a key role in managing daily financial operations for multiple business entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run accounts receivable: invoicing, payment allocation, debtor management, and processing credits, rebates and customer claims
  • Carry out month-end and year-end reconciliations, including customer accounts and intercompany transactions
  • Track outstanding accounts, chase overdue payments, and produce aged receivables reports and collection forecasts
  • Support customer account verification and compliance requirements
  • Post payroll journals and maintain accurate payroll records
  • Prepare BAS, IAS and PAYG reporting or assist with it
  • Maintain general ledger entries, journals and fixed asset records
  • Assist with financial and management reports, and support cash flow monitoring and forecasting
  • Keep financial records accurate across multiple business entities using the accounting software
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policy
  • Work alongside senior finance staff on reporting and financial analysis
  • Attend finance meetings and deliver ad hoc reporting when asked

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum three years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping, accounts or accounting
  • Diploma or higher in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations, and experience with payroll processing and Australian tax compliance
  • Working understanding of IFRS and/or Australian Accounting Standards
  • Strong Microsoft Excel ability: formulas, lookups and pivot tables
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisation, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to handle multiple priorities without missing deadlines
  • CPA or CA studies will be highly regarded
  • Desirable: experience in a multi-entity business environment
  • Advantageous: experience with accounting software such as NetSuite or Reckon
