Human Resources Manager

Human Resources Manager wanted in Queensland (part-time leadership role). You will oversee key HR functions for an organisation with more than 160 employees, keeping that workforce capable, engaged and compliant.

In demanding operational settings, policy knowledge alone is not enough. The employer wants proven experience, sound judgement and the ability to deal confidently with both staff and business leaders. Key Responsibilities

Maintain compliance with employment legislation and awards, and keep HR policies, procedures and documentation under review
Design practical HR strategies, put them in place and guide leadership on workforce needs
Manage recruitment, talent acquisition, workforce capability planning and succession
Drive employee engagement and retention
Deal with performance and employee relations issues, including investigations, grievances and disciplinary processes
Produce workforce reports and HR metrics
Support remuneration reviews
Help with injury management and return-to-work programs

Requirements & Eligibility

Strong grasp of Australian employment law
Working understanding of modern awards and the workplace relations system
Proven track record as an HR Manager or senior HR professional
Relevant tertiary qualification (preferred)
Experience in construction, mining, engineering, infrastructure or a comparable operational sector
Demonstrated background in employee relations and investigations, plus strong recruitment and workforce planning experience
Excellent analytical, communication and negotiation ability, and comfort working with both senior leaders and operational staff
Experience working with HRIS and payroll platforms
Capable of working independently in a hands-on environment
Sponsorship or migration experience is highly regarded, and sponsorship is available for eligible candidates
