HR Coordinator

A well-regarded organisation in Tauranga, New Zealand has a vacancy for an HR Coordinator in its People & Culture team. The employer wants someone proactive who puts people first.
The role goes beyond routine admin. Your work will span recruitment, staff engagement, HR systems, compliance support and process improvement. You will partner with leaders and employees to strengthen HR practice, improve the experience of working there and support a positive culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Handle immigration and AEWV-related documents when required
- Keep employee records and HR databases accurate
- Protect and maintain confidential documentation
- Run recruitment activities and communicate with candidates
- Arrange interviews and prepare employment documents for new hires
- Manage onboarding so new team members get a positive first experience
- Draft employment agreements, contract updates and HR correspondence
- Process employee changes, transfers and exits across the employment lifecycle
- Support the daily running of HR operations and smooth delivery of people services
- Advise managers on HR queries, policies and workplace procedures
- Coordinate training programmes, staff development and engagement activities
- Check HR processes for ways to improve efficiency and service delivery
- Build HR resources, templates and systems that meet business needs
- Encourage a positive workplace culture through good communication and employee support
Requirements & Eligibility
- Previous work as an HR Coordinator, HR Administrator, People & Culture Assistant or similar
- Relevant qualification in Human Resources, Business, Management or a related field, or equivalent HR experience
- Practical understanding of HR processes, employee documentation and workplace practices, along with employment compliance requirements and HR best practices
- Hands-on use of HR software, databases and digital systems
- Previous exposure to immigration, visa or international recruitment processes is beneficial
- Strong planning, organisation and time management, with the ability to treat sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Excellent communication and confidence dealing with all levels of an organisation, plus strong relationship-building skills and genuine interest in supporting people
- A problem-solver who is willing to improve processes and systems
- Ready to relocate and establish a long-term HR career in Tauranga, New Zealand
