Head Chef wanted for a new hospitality venue in New South Wales.

This is a leadership role, not just a kitchen job. You need a demonstrated track record of managing people, controlling costs and delivering consistent food service at scale, and your experience, qualifications and background will drive the selection decision.

The work covers building the kitchen team, developing the food concept and setting the operational standards that support the venue from opening onwards. As with any overseas role, verify the offer and the recruiter before you act on it.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure HACCP, food safety and WHS requirements are met at all times
Take full ownership of the kitchen, leading it through the venue opening and ongoing service
Recruit a team of more than 20 kitchen staff and train, supervise and develop them
Manage high-volume service while keeping food quality and presentation up to standard
Design commercially viable menus and implement them
Control food costs, labour and purchasing; manage stock and minimise wastage
Develop relationships with local suppliers and implement effective kitchen systems
Work closely with venue leadership
Monitor service performance and keep improving how the kitchen runs

Requirements & Eligibility

Established Head Chef or senior chef experience
Leadership of a large-scale or high-volume kitchen for 2–3 years
A track record of managing 20+ kitchen employees
Relevant commercial cookery qualifications and demonstrated menu planning and food-costing experience
Sound commercial and financial understanding
Proven leadership and development of staff, plus excellent communication and decision-making
Strong HACCP and food safety knowledge
