Wanted: a Head Chef for a full-time kitchen leadership post in Beachmere, Queensland. The employer needs someone who has already proved they can run hectic services, direct a crew and hold food to an exceptional level.

Day to day, you will be in charge of the kitchen, making sure every service keeps up quality, consistency, teamwork and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep the kitchen compliant with HACCP, hygiene and food safety rules
- Direct everything that happens in the kitchen each day
- Manage the crew and back them up while prep and service are under way
- Hold plates to a high level of quality, presentation and consistency
- Keep things moving efficiently in a busy casual dining operation
- Cook and supervise dishes with a mix of cooking techniques, checking portions and production standards
- Coach and train staff, giving guidance where it is needed
- Handle prep planning, stock, storage and orders
- Keep the workspace tidy, organised and professional
- Suggest menu ideas and fresh food offerings
- Create a culture of accountability and high performance in a positive team, and cover a roster that includes evenings, weekends and public holidays
Requirements & Eligibility
- Ready to hand over a current CV, contactable professional referees and trustworthy proof of identity, qualifications and relevant employment history
- Holder of a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or an equivalent recognised qualification)
- At least 3–5 years spent in relevant commercial kitchens
- Roughly 1–2 years already served as a Head Chef or senior Sous Chef
- Has shown they can lead and coordinate a professional kitchen crew
- Knows modern cooking methods and a range of culinary styles well, and turns out consistent results when service is busy
- Good organisational, communication and leadership skills, and a strong grasp of HACCP procedures and food safety legislation
- Presents professionally, behaves to a high standard and is available on a flexible basis across a seven-day roster
- An eligible candidate who meets the applicable requirements may be offered sponsorship
