HD Mechanic

This is a job for HD Mechanics who can prove it: a solid record on heavy mining equipment, a recognised trade qualification and an employment history that holds up. Successful applicants take their technical skills into an international environment.

Day to day, the focus is practical. You diagnose faults, maintain complex machinery and keep critical equipment working safely and reliably inside a major mining operation. The roster is 2/1, and the package includes quality tooling, competitive remuneration and overtime opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose mechanical faults accurately, troubleshoot performance problems and pin down the underlying cause
Repair or replace mechanical components as needed, guided by technical documentation and diagnostic data
Service heavy mobile mining equipment, including planned preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections
Handle Sandvik, Epiroc, CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi and comparable machinery
Protect equipment availability and cut operational downtime, working closely with site teams so mining operations stay reliable
Do all maintenance in line with site procedures and to high safety standards
Keep written records of repairs, inspections and maintenance completed

Requirements & Eligibility

Recognised Heavy Diesel, HD or Mobile Plant Mechanic trade qualification
At least 5 years of post-trade experience in the industry
Demonstrated work on heavy mobile plant or mining machinery
Practical experience with major OEM equipment such as Sandvik, Epiroc, CAT, Komatsu or Hitachi
Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and mechanical repair ability
Employment documents that support your work history, and genuine hands-on technical experience you can demonstrate
Prepared to work a 2/1 roster
Can work safely in a demanding mining environment
Willingness to relocate to the USA
Ability to satisfy applicable visa and sponsorship requirements
