Established salon teams in New Zealand want experienced Hairdressers, Barbers, Beauty Therapists and Hair & Beauty specialists. Positions are available across the country, with openings in the Auckland and Waikato regions depending on business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Keep hygiene, cleanliness and workplace health and safety standards strong at all times
Talk with each client to understand what they want and advise on suitable services
Deliver top-quality hairdressing, barbering and beauty work in your area of expertise
Cut, style, blow-dry and put up hair for both men and women
Do all professional colouring work, from roots, global colour, foils, highlights and lowlights to balayage, ombré, toning and colour correction
Carry out keratin, nanoplasty, Hair Botox and other smoothing treatments, as well as straightening, perming and other chemical treatments, where qualified
Offer barbering and grooming for men where applicable
Handle threading, waxing, facials and other beauty treatments, and eyebrow and eyelash services including extensions and tinting where qualified
Point clients to the right professional products and home-care routines
Give every client a welcoming, professional experience and build lasting relationships with them
Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and conduct, cooperate with the salon team in a busy setting and keep your technical knowledge and skills up to date

Requirements & Eligibility

Current New Zealand work rights or eligibility to get an appropriate work visa
Ready to produce evidence of relevant qualifications and professional experience when required
Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience preferred
Relevant industry qualification, and/or professional salon experience that can be demonstrated
Proven technical ability matching the position applied for
Hands-on practical experience with modern hairdressing, barbering and/or beauty techniques, which you can show is genuine
Strong communication skills and the ability to consult clients
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Well presented, reliable and professional
Capable of working independently while contributing effectively to a team
Strong commitment to quality, hygiene and professional standards, and a passion for a long-term career in the hair and beauty industry
